What we treat

PHYSIOTHERAPY 

Our aim is to provide quality evidence-based Physiotherapy using the latest hands-on treatment techniques and sports medicine guidelines. You’ll have a full half  hour of one on one time with your Physio and never be left alone while they work on another patient.

Your Physiotherapist is highly trained to assess and treat pain and dysfunction of the musculo-skeletal system, including common conditions such as:

  • Lower back pain
  • Traumatic and acute injuries
  • Postural and traumatic neck, back and shoulder pain
  • Headaches
  • Rehabilitation following orthopaedic surgery, Eg: ACL reconstruction, rotator cuff repair, ankle fractures.
  • Vertigo and dizziness**
  • Muscular spasm
  • Congenital and developmental back problems
  • Joint sprains
  • Muscle tears and strains
  • Runner’s biomechanics and lower limb pain
  • Cycling biomechanics and repetitive strain issues

All of our Physiotherapist are highly skilled in manual therapy, dry needling and exercise rehabilitation. We tailor our treatment and rehabilitation plans to the individual – no matter what their goal may be.

We provide running assessments for the everyday runner right through to the elite. The purpose of these assessments is to assist in injury management and prevention or to tailor strength and conditioning to the runners needs. 
Intervention looks at shifting load or improving load tolerance in order to manage or reduce injury risk. 

   

Our in clinic gym is now available to existing clients. The gym allows clients to complete their rehabilitation or exercise program. Sessions must be booked via our online booking link to ensure the space is available at your preferred time.

CHILDREN’S FEET

Children’s feet differ from those of adults as they are still developing and not yet fully formed.  Development occurs at different rates in all children so as a parent knowing what is normal for your child can be difficult. MUSCULOSKELETAL & MECHANICAL FOOT CONDITIONS

At Showgrounds Village Podiatry we have a special interest in musculoskeletal and mechanical conditions that affect the foot and lower limb. Alana graduated from the University of South Australia and has nearly 15 years experience in private practice and sports  Physiotherapy.
She has worked extensively with elite athletes of all ages and is currently the Physiotherapist for the Volleyball Australia senior national women’s team and the Volleyball Victoria youth and junior state team squads

Lachlan Broadway

(Senior Physiotherapist) 

Ba. Biomedical Sc. Doctorate Physiotherapy 

Lachlan is returning to SVPP in May 2024, however has been a member of the team since 2020.
He has been working for a number of years in general private practice as well as with elite sporting groups including both Western United and Melbourne Victory youth Soccer academies. He has experience working with both private and compensable clientele, facilitating return to work post injury while guiding rehabilitation under WorkCover or TAC. 
Lachlan places a strong level of importance on building collaborative relationship with patients and believes that this is the core in ensuring treatment is tailored to the individual client to reach their specific goals. He has advanced knowledge in exercise prescription and uses manual therapy adjuncts, including dry needling.
Lachlan is a member of the APA ensuring ongoing professional development and application of evidence based practice.

Gabby Prider

(Physiotherapist)
Ba. Physiotherapy (Honours)

 

Gabby graduated from the University of South Australia (honours) and has since been working in general and sports private practice since. Gabby is an ex elite level gymnast with an interest in youth sporting injuries. She enjoys all aspects of rehabilitation and injury management for all clientele, not just those on the sports field with additional training in TMJ/jaw pain and dysfunction.

Lidia Ambrosino 

(Podiatrist) 

Ba. Health Sc. M. Podiatry Practice 

Lidia graduated from La Trobe University in 2013 with a Bachelor in Health Sciences and Masters in Podiatric Practice. Her passion for this field purely came from the thought of feet being one of the most vital parts of the body.

Lidia has worked both in the public and private health sector within Melbourne and central London. Lidia loves all aspects of the podiatric profession and has a keen interest in diabetic foot care. She also enjoys the management of in-grown toenails (including surgical management); assessing, diagnosing and managing musculoskeletal injuries; foot wear assessment and education; and all general podiatric care. She is passionate about caring for others and helping them be pain-free and comfortable in their daily lives. Lidia enjoys volunteering at the Oxfam Trail Walk for blister control and helping people complete their challenge!

She maintains continuous professional development by attending seminars and workshops across all areas of podiatry and is committed to providing her patients with the best possible care.

Lidia consults on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and alternate Saturdays

We also work extremely closely with Volleyball Victoria and the State Team program for both beach and indoor Volleyball. 

Pricing

Please note the below prices apply from March 1st 2025.  
Physiotherapy Initial Consultation: $120

Assessment, explanation and initial treatment of the injury. In general the treatment may involve a mix of hands-on therapy such as deep tissue massage, mobilization, manipulation or dry needling, as well as an exercise program to allow self-management and reduce the likelihood of injury recurrence.

Physiotherapy Initial Consultation (existing client): $110

Initial assessment, as above, of a new injury or issue for an exisiting client. 

Physiotherapy Follow-up Consultation (standard): $100

We will continue to manage your condition(s) or problem. Each session will likely include a mixture of hands on treatment,  exercise rehabilitation and/or education.

Physiotherapy Extended Consultation: $160
An hour long consultation for patients that require the treatment of two or more distinct areas or problems.
Vertigo initial Consultation: $160

Vertigo initial assessments is 1 hour in duration as assessment can take some time. Given the nature and severity of clients symptoms we allow ample time for recovery from treatment before you leave.
If booking for vertigo please mention this to reception staff when making your appointment.
Follow up vertigo appointments are half an hour in duration, standard fee applies.

running assessments: $260

A detailed running assessment for the everyday runner right through to the elite. This assessment is designed to assist in injury management or prevention, improve running gait and/or  building a strength and conditioning program tailored to your needs. 
The aim is to shift or distribute load by altering running mechanics and/or footwear or improve load capacity with specific strength and conditioning. 
Please allow 1.5 hours for these assessments. 


Podiatry Initial Consultation: $110

30 minutes of consultation time. This includes the assessment, explanation and initial treatment of the pathology or injury. In this appointment your Podiatrist will outline your treatment plan and any additional costs associated with your management plan – for example: orthotics, surgeries or other consumables.

Podiatry Follow Up Consultation: $95

Your podiatrist will determine how much time is needed for your follow up consultation depending on the complexity of your pathology and time needed for treatment. Here they will continue treatment and management of your issue. 

POdiatry ingrown toenail surgery $500

This price  includes your 1 hour surgical appointment and two follow up consultations to redress and check healing of the surgical site.

Private Health Cover:
On the spot Health Insurance Claims are available using the Hicaps system. Includes all major and most minor health funds (for participating health funds click here). Typically your private health insurer will pay between half and two thirds of the treatment cost, depending on your level of cover. Please bring your private health card with you. We also accept payment using cash, Visa, Mastercard and EFTPOS.
 
BUPA and HCF customers:

Additionally, we are affiliated with multiple major Private Health Funds to provide rewarding services to members:

BUPA‘s Member’s First program allows BUPA members to enjoy a lower than normal out of pocket cost on Physiotherapy and Podiatry consultations. 

The “More for Muscles” program provides higher level rebates for HCF members. The initial Physiotherapy consultation is 100% covered by HCF for those with this level of cover.

Workcover and TAC:
Compensable injuries such as Workcover and TAC claims are commonly treated. Due to the inability of WorkSafe and the TAC to pay market rates for Physiotherapy treatments, our policy is to charge the client our normal rates, the cost of the treatment can then be claimed back via the insurer. You must have lodged a claim already to access Physiotherapy or Podiatry services.
 
Medicare Chronic condition management plan: $100 ($63.40) medicare rebate, gap payment $36.60) 
In certain cases, you may be eligible for treatment under the CCMP (Chronic Condition Management Plan) which enables patients to have up to five Medicare subsidised sessions each calendar year.
You’ll be required to pay $100 on the date of your consultation, and will receive a rebate of $63.40  leaving you with an out of pocket ‘gap’ payment of $36.60 for each session.
Please note we do not bulk bill any Medicare consultations. 
You will need to contact your GP to find out if you are eligible for this program.
