Initial Consultation: $89
30 minutes of consultation time. This includes the assessment, explanation and initial treatment of the injury. In general the treatment will involve a mix of hands-on therapy such as deep tissue massage, mobilization or manipulation, as well as an exercise program to allow self-management and reduce the likelihood of injury recurrence. Our clinicians are skilled in the technique of Dry Needling, a strong treatment technique utilised to break up muscular spasm and old trigger points. Barring the circumstances of a needle phobia, we regularly utilise dry needling to assist in recovery from muscle spasm.
Follow-up Consultation: $79
A full half-hour consultation.
Extended Consultation: $130
A double length consultation for patients that require the treatment of two or more distinct areas or problems. We will need you for an hour this time.
Private Health Cover:
On the spot Health Insurance Claims are available using the Hicaps system. Includes all major and most minor health funds (for participating health funds click here). Typically your private health insurer will pay between half and two thirds of the treatment cost, depending on your level of cover. Please bring your private health card with you. We also accept payment using cash, Visa, Mastercard and EFTPOS.
BUPA and HCF customers:
We are proud to be able to offer higher benefits and lower pricing to members of these two health funds. Showgrounds Village Physiotherapy is a Member’s First provider for BUPA (formerly HBA and MBF), a program which lowers the cost of Physiotherapy sessions to the client as well as providing higher on-the-spot claims via the HICAPS system.
We are also approved providers for HCF’s ‘More for Muscles Program’, which covers 100% of the initial consultation for HCF members.
Workcover and TAC:
Compensable injuries such as Workcover and TAC claims are commonly treated. Due to the inability of WorkSafe and the TAC to pay market rates for Physiotherapy treatments, our policy is to charge the client our normal rates, the cost of the treatment can then be claimed back via the insurer. You will usually receive most of the cost back, however there will be a small “gap” depending on your insurer’s policies. You must have lodged a claim already to access Physiotherapy services.
In certain cases, you may be eligible for treatment under the EPC program (Enhanced Primary Care). This enables up to five Medicare-funded sessions each calendar year, with no out-of-pocket expenses. You will need to contact your GP to find out if you are eligible for this program. Generally, you will qualify for this program if you have a chronic medical condition that is being managed by your GP, and requires Physiotherapy treatment. Consult your GP for further information.
